The EDT Consulting division from inception in early 2011 goes from success to success assisting clients where recruitment alone isn’t enough.
Many clients built by EDT are demanding more and more to outsource large sections of work and handing over business as a whole to the consulting division to take on entire projects. This has proved cost effective for many clients relieving many of the headaches that come with engaging all the staff themselves on a large volume freeing clients up to concentrate on growing their own businesses.
“We still engage the recruitment services of EDT for any long term or permanent staff required, however the flexibility that EDT could provide with their consulting division has allowed us to expand dramatically by EDT taking on projects with a ready-made work force which we can utilise on a project by project basis. The time it would have taken us to mobilise a workforce on the scale we would have needed would have not been possible to do in the timescales we needed it in. OPTUS said it had successfully connected Australia's first LTE data call in the 700MHz "digital dividend" spectrum band.
The digital dividend spectrum is that part of the spectrum released with the closure of analogue TV after the transition to digital broadcasting.
The trial is being conducted in Bendigo as analogue television services have already been switched off in the area.
“This marks the commencement of Optus’ 700MHz LTE trials in Bendigo, Victoria with technology partner Huawei, as it seeks to deliver faster mobile broadband services with superior coverage to existing 4G networks,” Optus said.
Günther Ottendorfer, Managing Director of Optus Networks said the announcement was a critical step in Australia’s LTE future as Optus would be the first carrier in Australia to test a variety of commercially available consumer devices on a 700 MHz 4G network, including smartphones, tablets and 4G Wi-Fi hotspots. > Read More
