EDT GLOBAL PTY LTD’S PRIVACY POLICY

The following outlines EDT’s policy on how we manage the personal information you provide us with. This includes the type of information we hold, the purpose for holding it, how we store it, the upkeep of the accuracy, how we dispose of unwanted information and how you can access information held about you.
EDT is bound by the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. 

EDT’s Privacy Policy will be reviewed regularly to take into account any new laws and any changes to EDT operations, practices and procedures. 
EDT has an open policy on how we record and use personal information. 

Personal Information held by EDT

Personal information usually held is:

  • Candidate information submitted by the candidate.
  • Contact details including address, telephone numbers, email addresses, website address.
  • Work history and performance information.
  • Skill sets of individuals
  • Work incidents and Information regarding absences from work due to leave, illness or other causes.
  • Staff information
  • Information relating to preferences of employment by the candidate
  • Professional, trade, association, union membership.
  • Visa Status
  • Criminal record
  • Health or disability

Purposes for holding personal information

We hold personal information for the following:

  • For the accurate placement of candidates
  • Recruitment and consultancy
  • Business development and client relationships
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Staff monitoring
  • In order to contact individuals

We may disclose your personal information when:

  • It is for the purposes as stated above
  • Where we are under a legal obligation to do so
  • In some cases we may only disclose information with your consent.

Storage of personal information
EDT holds personal information in secure computer storage facilities. We may also hold paper-based information which is stored in secure files. 

Accuracy of information
EDT takes every Endeavour to ensure that the personal information held is accurate and keeps information held up to date through certain activities using electronic mail, telephone and post. EDT understands that information can be changed very frequently sometimes so encourage individuals to advise their consultant when personal details change. 

Disposal of information
When information is no longer needed or requested that it be removed the information is disposed of in a secure manner ensuring that no breach of security is made.

Access
Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles you can gain access to the personal information that we hold about you.

You may be refused access to information if it breaches any confidentiality or privacy rights of other individuals.

There may be a small administrative charge applicable for information requested. 

Breaching of EDT Privacy Policy

Any member of EDT found to be in breach of your privacy or the EDT Privacy Policy will result in disciplinary action against that member of EDT.
